Pop is a fantastic little lady who has come to us from a breeder, although we have been told she has lived in a home previously. She knows her name and responds to "Pop", so her new family will need to keep this name.
Pop is a wonderful little girl who is full of love, character and energy. She can be a little timid when first meeting new people, but it doesn't take her long to warm up. Once she knows you, she absolutely loves cuddles, enjoys giving kisses and thrives on human company. She has a very affectionate, sweet nature and loves being involved in whatever her people are doing.
As an active Jack Russell Terrier x Collie, Pop is looking for a home that can provide plenty of physical exercise as well as mental enrichment to keep her clever little brain busy. She is a very quick learner and has just mastered "sit" and is currently learning "touch". She picks things up quickly, which has also been a great help with her muzzle training.
Pop walks absolutely beautifully on her harness and would happily walk for miles and miles, so she will need an active home who enjoys getting out and about and helping their dog learn new things. Her adopters will need to be committed to continuing the training we have put in place and helping her build confidence.
Pop will need to be the only dog in her new home. She isn't currently sociable with other dogs and can become reactive when she feels overwhelmed. We are working hard to help her become more comfortable by taking her on walks alongside calm dogs at a distance. Once she is happily muzzle trained, we hope to gradually work towards safe mixes with carefully matched dogs. Her new family will need to be experienced, understanding and willing to continue this positive, reward-based training when out and about in public.
As Pop has previously lived in a home, we think she is likely to know many of the basics, although she may need a few reminders as she settles into a new routine.
She could live with sensible, dog-savvy children aged 13 years and over but will need a home without cats.
Pop is a truly wonderful little dog with so much love to give. With patient, experienced adopters who can provide the active lifestyle, training and consistency she needs, she will make a fantastic, loyal and loving companion.
